Web Extra: Meet UCA Football Coach Clint Conque

He's the winningest coach in the university's football history.
CONWAY, AR - Clint Conque is entering his 14th season as head football coach at the University of Central Arkansas (UCA).

We caught up with him earlier this week at a Media Day event for the team on the First Security Field at Estes Stadium.

Conque has taken the Bears to unprecedented heights at the NCAA Division I level over the past seven seasons.

UCA was ranked seventh in The Sports Network FSC Top 25 poll released on Tuesday, and 10th in the College Sporting News poll that came out Monday. The Bears have been in the Top 10 of every FCS poll released this summer.

"We have seven teams on our 2013 schedule that are either ranked in the Top 25 or are receiving votes in that latest poll,' said Conque. "And that doesn't include playing FBS Colorado on the road in Week 2. We knew we had a quality schedule but this just reinforces that. It's going to be a challenge.'

UCA, 9-3 last season and co-champions of the Southland Conference, opens the season at home against SLC newcomer Incarnate Word on Thursday, Aug. 29. The Bears reached the second round of the FCS Playoffs last season for the second straight year.
