Warming Center for Homeless to Open in Little Rock

The City of Little Rock is partnering with the Arkansas Dream Center to open a temporary warming shelter for the homeless.
LITTLE ROCK, AR - With potentially plummeting temperatures hitting Arkansas on Sunday, Jan. 5, the Arkansas Dream Center & the City of Little Rock will partner together to open a temporary warming center at the Arkansas Dream Center Little Rock location (1116 W. Daisy Bates).

The Warming Center days and hours will be as follows:
Sunday, Jan. 5
• Doors open at 4 p.m.
• Dinner at 6:30 p.m.
• Doors remain open all night to walk-ins

Monday, Jan. 6
• Open all day
• Breakfast 9 a.m.
• Lunch 1 p.m.
• Dinner 6:30 p.m.
• Doors remain open to walk-ins all night

Tuesday, Jan. 7
• Breakfast 9 a.m.
• To-go lunches at noon
• Transportation to Jericho Way will be available starting at noon
• Closed and cleared out by 1 p.m.

Tuesday, Jan. 7
Decision will be made by noon ON whether conditions require the center to remain open. In that event:
• Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
• Dinner is served

Wednesday, Jan. 8
• Breakfast 9 a.m.
• To-Go lunches at Noon
• Transportation to Jericho Way will be available starting at Noon
• Closed and cleared out by 1 p.m.

Our most pressing needs are:
• Food and meals
• Blankets, bedding, cots, air mattresses
• Coats, shoes, jeans & cold weather gear
• Laundry Soap
• Small bar soap & travel size shampoo
• New socks and underwear

Our biggest volunteer & meal needs will be at these times:
Sunday 2 p.m. – 4 p.m. SET UP
Sunday 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. DINNER & CLEAN UP
Sunday Midnight – 6 a.m. OVERNIGHT GREETER/MONITOR
Monday 7:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. BREAKFAST
Monday 12:30 – 2 p.m. LUNCH
Monday 6 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. DINNER & CLEAN UP
Monday Midnight – 6 a.m. OVERNIGHT GREETER/MONITOR
Tuesday 7:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. BREAKFAST
Tuesday 12:30 – 2 p.m. LUNCH
Tuesday 1 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. CLEAN UP TIME
