Warm Water Springs in Garland Co. Unaffected by Shutdown

Dozens of tourists were enjoying the bath houses in Hot Springs Friday afternoon.
HOT SPRINGS, AR -- The springs are still flowing in Garland County despite the government shutdown.

Even though the Hot Springs National Park is closed, the warm water springs are still open.

It's mainly because they're privately run businesses, but also because the warm springs are continuously flowing and therefore can't be regulated.

"Nope, they can't stop the springs," says Quapaw Baths Reception Manager Robin Rodriguez.

Owners say the shutdown has not affected their businesses.
