Update: Mississippi Co. Sheriff's Office Identifies Suspect Charged in Girl's Death

Update (11:25 a.m.):
BLYTHEVILLE, AR - The Mississippi County Sheriff's Office has identified the suspect under arrest in the death of 11-year-old Jessica Williams.

Christopher Sowell, 17, is charged with first degree murder and is being held in the Mississippi County Jail at Blytheville.

Sowell will be arraigned this afternoon in the courtroom at the detention center.

BLYTHEVILLE, AR - The Mississippi County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) has made an arrest in the death of an 11-year-old girl.

Sheriff Dale Cook says a 17-year-old boy is being held in the case and charges are pending.

The Sheriff's Office is still waiting on an autopsy report from the State Crime Lab about how Jessica Williams died. Her body was found early Wednesday morning at the end of East County Road 122 where it dead ends at Big Lake.

Sheriff Cook says the suspect was arrested last night at 11:30. He says the boy is not related to the victim but was acquainted with her.
