Update: Arkansas' Long Not in Running for Texas AD

The Dallas Morning News is reporting Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long will interview for the same position at the University of Texas. On Sunday night, Long said that isn't so.
LITTLE ROCK, AR - The Dallas Morning News reported Sunday that Arkansas Athletic Director Jeff Long will interview for the same position at the University of Texas.  However, Long said on Twitter later in the day that's not the case.

The report by writer Chuck Carlton says West Virginia's Oliver Luck is the top target for Texas. Carlton says sources tell him Long and Arizona State's Steve Patterson are also finalists for the post.

Carlton wrote that, “[u]nless something dramatically changes, those are the three finalists.”

Sunday evening on Twitter, Long wrote in part, "I’m not seeking a position or engaged in the search process of another University...I'm proud to be a Vice Chancellor & the Director of Athletics at the U of A."

According to the report, a new AD could be named as early as this week. Texas' current athletic director announced he would retire in the middle of next year.

In 2012, Long was rumored to be a candidate for Stanford's open AD position.
