Work to restore the interior of the Arkansas State Capitol to its original appearance is nearly complete. Take a look.
LITTLE ROCK, AR - Work to restore the interior of the Arkansas State Capitol to its original appearance is nearly complete.

Construction on over 100 feet of scaffolding started back in late July.

Sixteen different colors of paint comprise the paint inside the dome of the capitol.

Two wooden floor levels were constructed to allow painters access to some of the most hard to reach portions of the dome.

The project is paid for through an $800,000 grant from the Arkansas Natural and Cultural Resources Council.

All scaffolding will be removed by Nov. 18 in time for the capitol Christmas tree to be moved in to place.
