LITTLE ROCK, AR-- University of Arkansas-Little Rock Police opened a new police substation to be closer to students.
Right now, the department is located on Asher avenue, which is on the outskirt of the main campus.
Public Safety Director Edward Smith says the new substation allows officers to be closer to students and faculty.
"This location gives us an opportunity to respond quicker to incidents rather than being at the Asher location."
Students, like Jeannie Kyang-Nguyen, says the space is an important move because it gives officers more visibility.
"A lot of people don't know where (the campus police) office is and they have to ask around," said Kyang-Nguyen.
