UALR Nursing Program to Dedicate New Building

The new facility features a simulation hospital that allows students to get real-world experience while making mistakes, even if that means losing a patient.
LITTLE ROCK, AR -- The University of Arkansas-Little Rock (UALR) is set to showcase a new nursing building.

The university will officially dedicate the space at a Wednesday morning ceremony.

The new facility features a simulation hospital that allows students to get real-world experience while making mistakes, even if that means losing a patient.

"We did kill our patient with anaphylactic shock, but we were able to get him back and try it over the right way," student Joy Leech said.

"We are able to ensure all of our students rotate through a structured learning experience," Nursing Department Chairperson Ann Bain says. "We are also focusing a lot on the Institute of Medicine and initiators ticked and collaborative interdisciplinary care."

UALR Chancellor Joel Anderson will kick off Wednesday's showcase at 9:30 a.m.
