Texarkana to Host Division II Bowl Game

The "Live United Bowl" will be held at Arkansas High's Razorback Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 7.
TEXARKANA, AR -- There's exciting news for football fans in Texarkana, as the city has been chosen to host an NCAA Division II bowl game, with funds going to the United Way.

The "Live United Bowl" will be held at Arkansas High's Razorback Stadium on Saturday, Dec. 7.

While the two teams haven't been chosen, it is known that one team will represent the Great American Conference (GAC), and their opponent would be another Division II team from the region.

Officials with United Way and the GAC say they are excited about this opportunity.

"To give back to the community, that's really the big thing, and we really hope that no matter who the winner is, on Dec. 7, that the bigger winner that day will be the twin communities of Texarkana, Arkansas and Texas," Will Prewitt, with GAC said at a news conference.

Tickets are set to go on sale Nov. 1 at $6 for adults and $4 for students.
