Shooting Victim's Young Daughter Went To Neighbors For Help

The family of a Pine Bluff man who was shot and killed Thanksgiving Day, is demanding the person responsible come forward.
PINE BLUFF, AR- Her family says thankfully Amiya McDaniel is only three-years-old so she doesn't remember her father being killed Thursday.

The little girl then went door to door looking for a neighbor's help.

"My nephew answered the door and there was a little girl," said the man who eventually found her. "She had no socks on; we just kept her warm."

"They left him laying on the floor with his baby," said 25-year old Dametrick McDaniel's Mother, Wanda McDaniel.

She said she is disgusted someone could kill her son in front of her granddaughter.

"She just says her daddy was laying on the floor in some blood and he wouldn't wake up," said Wanda.

"They really didn't have to kill him in front of her," said Marquite Bullard, the little girl's mother. "That's what hurts the most."

Pine Bluff police are still trying to solve this murder and are asking to question the victim's friend, Brandon McClathchie who is said to have been there when it happened.

"You're supposed to be a so called friend," said Wanda. "You need to come forward and tell what happened because you were there."

The victim's nephew told us he and his uncle were very close and that Amiya is like a sister to him.

"I knew something was wrong because I had a dream about him," 12-year-old Trayvon McDaniel said crying.

"You did my uncle like that in front of my cousin?" He asked. "I know he's watching me... I know he's watching me."

The exact cause of McDaniel's death is still under investigation.

His family said his body will return from the Arkansas State Crime lab Tuesday.
