The unidentified man was shot after a deputy and State Police officers responded to a domestic disturbance at a home on Stanage Drive near hot Springs.
GARLAND COUNTY, AR -- Sheriff's Deputies shot and killed a man who allegedly pointed a gun at the officers last night in Garland county.

According to a release from Garland County Sheriff's Deputy Scott Hinojosa, authorities were called to a home on Stanage Drive last night shortly before 11:00 p.m.

Upon arrival, and after speaking with a complainant, a deputy learned that the disturbance involved a male and female inside a residence and that the male was believed to have a gun.

The officer requested and received assistance from the Arkansas State Police.

The officers say they approached the residence, knocked and identified themselves to the occupants inside and ordered them out of the house.

The officers heard what sounded like the action of a firearm being operated, took cover at different points around the front yard and observed a white male exit the house with a firearm.

The male suspect was ordered to drop the firearm, with no compliance.

The suspect is reported to have pointed the gun at the deputy, and was shot and died at the scene.

None of the Officers were injured in the shooting.

The investigation is continuing.

We will have more information as it becomes available.
