LITTLE ROCK, AR - Cabot and Benton are leading the way in single-family home construction in Arkansas.
That's according to the 2013 Economic Review and Outlook released by Metroplan.
Metroplan is the council of local governments in the Little Rock metro area.
It's 2013 Economic Review and Outlook includes data and articles on local business developments, such as the innovation center in North Little Rock and research efforts at UAMS.
Highlights, according to a summary release:
- Job growth is less than the U.S. average, but ahead of the state average and has improved in the last year.
- Housing construction was up only marginally, but Cabot and Benton led the way with 35 and 16 percent growth in single-family house construction.
This was interesting, if not exactly surprising on reflection:
A comparison of census data of 1990 and 2010 reveals that young adults age 25 to 34 in Central Arkansas demonstrate a greater preference for living in the urban core rather than outlying areas.
Entrepreneurship is the main focus of the publication. You can read it all here.
