Popular Alma School Teacher Dies in Car Wreck

According to a police report, Crystal Buswell, 31, drove through a stop sign in front of a dump truck, which didn't have time to stop and collided into the passenger side of the car.

FORT SMITH, AR -- A popular Alma High School teacher was killed in a car wreck on Thursday night in south Fort Smith, leaving behind her husband and 1-year old baby.

According to a police report, Crystal Buswell, 31, drove through a stop sign in front of a dump truck, which didn't have time to stop and collided into the passenger side of the car. 

Buswell was pronounced dead at the scene.

Buswell taught geometry and algebra at Alma High School for six years after teaching in the Ozark School District for two years.

Students took to Twitter to mourn the loss the of their beloved teacher:

"I'll never forget the time Buswell told me she was proud of me, & that I'd go far. & to set my mind for what I want, and run with it.."
