Pine Bluff Father Murdered on Thanksgiving

A Pine Bluff man was pronounced dead shortly after midnight.
PINE BLUFF, AR -- A Pine Bluff man was pronounced shortly after midnight when Pine Bluff Police report they were responding to a call concerning the well-being of a small child.

The Pine Bluff Police Department (PBPD) received a call to an apartment complex on South Beach Street. PBPD report the caller noted a 3-year-old knocked at her door and was alone with no shoes on her feet.

When officers arrived they could not locate the child's parent or guardian. As the officers continued their search knocking door-to-door, they found the front door of apartment "I" open.

According to reports, they announced their presence then entered the apartment where they found 25-year-old Dametrick McDaniel lying on the floor in a pool of blood and unresponsive.

PBPD reported the victim was the child's father. Jefferson County Coroner Chad Kelley pronounced the victim dead at 12:53 a.m. The 3-year-old child is in the custody of the Department of Human Services, and they are trying to locate family members.

Police have no motive at this time but are continuing this investigation. Pine Bluff Police do want to question Brandon McClatchie.
