Ongoing Dispute Results in Woman's Shooting Death

65-year-old Virginia Hyatt is charged with capital murder.
TEXARKANA, AR -- A 65-year-old woman has been charged with capital murder after police say she shot another woman after an ongoing dispute.

According to the Texarkana Arkansas Police Department (TAPD), officers responded to South Valley Drive around 6 p.m. Tuesday, where they found a woman shot dead outside of a home.

After interviewing witnesses, TAPD identified 65-year-old Virginia Hyatt as the person responsible for the shooting.

Police found Hyatt at a home in Texarkana and took her to jail, where she was charged with capital murder.

Police say they are continuing to investigate, but this shooting was an isolated incident and the result of an ongoing dispute.
