Man Tries to Sell Meth to Undercover Officer

Suspect reportedly tried to hit patrol vehicles during ensuing chase.
HOXIE, AR -- The Lawrence County Sheriff's Office (LCSO) arrested a man Monday on several drug charges after they say he tried to sell meth to an informant and undercover officer.

LCSO says 34-year-old James Thomas Morgan, of Jonesboro, tried to sell meth to the informant and undercover officer, then fled in his car as authorities attempted to take him into custody.

A high-speed chase ensued, in which Morgan tried to hit patrol vehicles, according to LCSO.

Morgan was eventually stopped and arrested, and a subsequent search of his vehicle turned up meth, marijuana and drug paraphernalia, LCSO says.

He was taken to the Lawrence County Jail, where he was charged with possession of meth with intent to deliver, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, tampering with evidence, use of a communication device to commit a felony and fleeing in a vehicle.
