The Last Call for Kenwood House Party Event will be held Sunday, September 8 from 6:00p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
This is the final chance to view the exhibition Rembrandt, Van Dyck, Gainsborough: The Treasures of Kenwood House, London
in the United States.
The event is free for members of the Arkansas Arts Center; $20 for non-members (includes ticket to the exhibition)
Admission is pay-at-the-door only.
The Event will include:
Harp’s and Guinness beers (courtesy of Arkansas 107 Liquor Store )
London Gin tonics and wines
Classic Irish Pub Cheese and savory miniature meat pies
Bells of Ireland will adorn the Alice Pratt Brown Atrium
A special detail of the Queen’s Guard will be on hand at the official closing of the exhibit at the reception’s end to lock the doors of the exhibition
Artists in exhibition: Rembrandt van Rijn, Anthony Van Dyck, Thomas Gainsborough, J.M.W. Turner, Francois Boucher, Sir Joshua Reynolds, Albert Cuyp, Francesco Guardi and Joseph Wright of Derby
Also included is Rembrandt van Rijn’s sublime Portrait of the Artist (ca. 1665), one of the artist’s last self-portraits and one of only a few of his many self-portraits that show him in the act of painting.
This Is the first time a Rembrandt painting has ever come to Arkansas, and is the last stop on a four-city tour for this exhibition
Many of the works have never traveled to the U.S. before or even been exhibited outside Kenwood.
