Laman Library's Upcoming August Events

Public Relations Manager Dan Noble tells us about the fun things you can do this month.
The Laman Library in North Little Rock has lots to offer on its calendar this month.

Coming up on Tuesday, August 13 at 2 p.m., it's Laman's Summer Movies program for children. The final featured film of the summer is "Diary of a Wimpy Kid-Dog Days." The library provides free popcorn and juice for movie-goers to enjoy during the movie.

For the adults, you'll want to check out Laman's Exhibit Hall. That's where you'll see "Discover Greatness: An Illustrated History of the Negro Baseball Leagues." The exhibit is on display through August 24. It includes nearly 90 framed photographs showcasing the history of African American Baseball from the late 1800s to the 1960s.

Laman Library would also like everyone to know about its Writers Fellowship which offers a $10,000 award. The deadline to enter is November 15.
