LRPD Officer Slightly Injured Fighting Fire on Kavanaugh

LITTLE ROCK, AR -- A Little Rock police officer has been treated and released at a local hospital after responding to a Friday night on Kavanaugh.

Officer Eddie Seaton, and his partner were working a disturbance call in the 1000 block of Kavanaugh shortly before 10:00 p.m. Friday when a neighbor at 1019 Kavanaugh ran from his residence saying his apartment was on fire.

Officer Seaton grabbed an extinguisher from his car and began evacuating people from the apartments.

They were able to evacuate all residents safely.

In the process, the officer inhaled smoke and chemicals from the extinguisher.

Officer Seaton was treated on the scene by MEMS and then transported to a local hospital for smoke inhalation treatment.

He has been released from the hospital.
