LITTLE ROCK, AR (News release) - Bridge maintenance requires a lane closure on Interstate 30 in Malvern, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.
Crews will be conducting maintenance work beneath the Highway 84 (Tanner Street) overpass in Malvern. The work will require closing the eastbound outside lane of Interstate 30 between mile markers 94 and 98. Traffic on Highway 84 will not be affected.
The closures will occur weekdays beginning Thursday, November 21st. They will conclude on Tuesday, November 26th. The lane closures will only occur between 8 a.m. and 2:30 p.m., weather permitting. Traffic will be controlled using barrels and warning signs.
The bridge was constructed in 1963. It is 712 feet long and 42.8 feet wide. A 2008 study showed that 17,000 vehicles use the bridge each day.
Motorists should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones.
