NORTH LITTLE ROCK, AR- Hundreds kicked off "National Back To Church Sunday" Sunday afternoon.
The Salvation Army held a church service and block party for the community.
Families enjoyed live music, games, food and other activities.
Organizers say the national event is a call to return to church.
Roger Glick with the Salvation Army says, "Summer is full of vacations, time away from a lot of the routine and activities and for others, maybe it's been a few years since they've been to church. So today is a national call for everyone to come back to church, discover your roots."
Officials say the event is also great way for people to meet and learn more about the Salvation Army.
