SALINE COUNTY, AR -- Hay producers are looking for a break from the sun's rays.
Bobby Wright, the owner of Wright Farms in Saline County, said he needs a good two inches of rain to saturate the ground.
The demand for hay is high right now, but a lack of rain limits the amount of bails he has to sell.
He said water is vital to making bails.
"Your hay is not as good and you don't have bail near as much. You have fertilizer costs and you don't have as many bails. That hurts," Wright said.
Wright said the lack of rain pushes back the time he has bails ready for sell.
