SAN ANTONIO, TX - A Harding University graduate student has been found dead in a park in Texas.

On New Year’s Eve, visitors discovered the body of Lauren Michelle Bump, 24, inside O.P. Schnabel Park in San Antonio.

Bump’s death has been ruled a homicide by the Bexar County Medical Examiner's office. She had apparently suffered from several stab wounds.

Authorities so far do not have any suspects in the case, and Bump’s family is offering a reward for any information leading to an arrest. Anyone with information is asked to contact the San Antonio Police Department.

In 2010, Bump completed a B.S. degree in Biomedical Science at McMurry University.

David Crouch, the Director of Public Relations at Harding University has released a statement on behalf of the school.

"The Harding community is shocked at the news of her death and the apparent circumstances that surround her death. Our prayers go out to her family and friends. This is such a tragic loss of a young lady who had so much of her life and career ahead of her."
