Free fishing weekend plus Kids' Fishing Day.

LITTLE ROCK, AR - Anyone who loves fishing will want to have their pole and tackle box ready to go this weekend.

During National Fishing & Boating Week, the State of Arkansas is having a free fishing weekend across the state.

There's also a fishing derby for kids in Lee County on Saturday.

The free fishing weekend runs from noon Friday until midnight Sunday. During that time residents and nonresidents may fish without fishing licenses or trout permits.

However, regulations for Arkansas waters apply: daily limits, slot limits and length limits must be observed.
