Freedom Ends in Chicago for Sherwood Escapee

Conrad Everett, 23, was taken back into custody on Friday night after two days on the run.
CHICAGO, IL - A man who escaped from custody in Sherwood last week has been picked up in Chicago.

The Sherwood Police Department (SPD) announced this morning that Conrad Everett, 23, was found Friday night and taken into custody without incident.

The SPD says the U.S. Marshal-led Eastern Arkansas Fugitive Task Force sent out a collaborative lead and the Great Lakes Regional Fugitive Task Force found the Arkansas fugitive.

Everett is being held at the Cook County Jail on additional charges of Felony Escape and Aggravated Assault and is awaiting extradition back to Arkansas.

Everett escaped on Wednesday while being escorted to the booking area of the SPD. He then led police on a chase from Sherwood to North Little Rock. Police caught up with the Volkswagen Passat he was driving on Percy Machin Drive, but when they opened it up, Everett was nowhere to be found.

Police did not say what Everett had been charged with, but said he was considered armed and dangerous.
