Family-Owned Little Rock Restaurant Celebrates 20 Years in Business

Dave Williams and family run "Dave's Place" at Second and Center in downtown.
LITTLE ROCK, AR (News release) - Family-owned downtown Little Rock restaurant Dave’s Place celebrates its 20th year in business today.

To mark the milestone, locally renowned chef and owner Dave Williams is offering a Friday night dinner menu of classic French entrees as a throwback to his days as line chef at famed Little Rock restaurant Jacques & Suzanne’s.

Dave’s Place is named for Williams who has served as chef at a number of Little Rock restaurants including Graffiti's, The Terrace, Ciao’s and the Excelsior Hotel. Williams opened Dave’s Place on Seventh and Center streets in 1993. The restaurant has been at its current location at Second and Center streets for more than 10 years and has developed a large and loyal customer base of Little Rock attorneys, judges and other local professionals.

Williams’ son and daughter serve customers and his wife often runs the cash register, making Dave’s Place one of Little Rock's only true family-owned and operated restaurants.

Dave’s Place is open for lunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday through Friday and serves a variety of sandwiches, soups and salads. The restaurant is also open for dinner every Friday night from 5:30 to 9 p.m., giving Williams a creative outlet for continental cuisine and providing a venue for his son, Dave Williams II (in photo), to play jazz.
