Update: Death of Bentonville Woman Ruled Homicide, Police Search for Grandson

76-year-old Nelma Darline Conklin was found dead inside her home on Sunday.
(Update, July 22 4:57 p.m.):
BENTONVILLE, AR (KNWA) - Police now believe an elderly woman who's body was found in her home was a homicide. The investigation is the result of preliminary cause of death findings by the Arkansas State Crime Lab autopsy. 

Police are now looking for Conklin’s grandson, 26-year-old Michael Eugene Conklin, who had been living at the house with her.

BENTONVILLE, AR (KNWA) - Police have released new details about the investigation into a body found at a Bentonville home.

On Sunday, police got a call about a welfare concern at 3300 SW Elm Manor Drive.

The caller told police 76-year-old Nelma Darline Conklin had not been to work for about one week.

When officers went to check on her, they found Conklin dead inside the home.

Police are now looking for Conklin’s grandson, 26-year-old Michael Eugene Conklin, who had been living at the house with her.

Police say Nelma Conklin’s car, a silver 2013 Ford Focus with Arkansas license plate 583OCT, is also missing.

Police are calling the circumstances of Nelma Conklin's death "suspicious" and have sent her body to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy to determine the cause and manner of death.

BENTONVILLE, AR (KNWA) - Police are investigating a body found in a home on the 3300 block of Elm Manor Avenue in Bentonville. 

Police, the narcotics unit and coroner are on scene and investigating.
