Walmart Self Checkout Machine Mistakenly Gives $10s Not $1s in Change

Police are looking for at least one customer they say took advantage of the situation.
ROGERS, AR (KNWA) - A mistake loading the self checkout with change has cost a Rogers Walmart about $850.

It happened on Jan. 14 at the store on W. Walnut.

According to the Rogers Police Department, during routine maintenance of the machine, the $1 bill slot was mistakenly loaded with $10 bills.

Five people noticed the error, police said, and returned to the self checkout machine, buying small items to collect the wrong change.

The machine reportedly gave out an estimated $850 in wrong refunds.

Several people have been charged with theft and police are looking for a woman (pictured above) in connection to this case.

If you recognize her you can contact the Rogers Police Department (479) 636-4141 and ask to speak with Detective Fitch.
