Update: I-40 Eastbound Lanes Reopened in Monroe County

Crews have completed part of their work in removing a damaged tractor trailer rig after an overnight accident. The work shutdown traffic for five hours Friday.
Update (2:25 p.m.):
MONROE COUNTY, AR - The eastbound lanes of Interstate 40 have reopened following a five-hour shutdown earlier today.

Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials say crews cleaning up an overnight accident scene still have more work to do but traffic has been allowed through the area again.

Original story (9:05 a.m.):
MONROE COUNTY, AR - Cleanup of an overnight accident scene will shutdown a stretch of Interstate 40 until this afternoon.

That's according to Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.

The AHTD says I-40 eastbound will close near mile marker 205 at the Cache River crossing around 9:30 this morning and could remain closed as long as 5 hours.

Crews will be removing a damaged tractor trailer. No other details about the accident have been available.
