Update: Dog Strapped to Fireworks Expected to Recover

Owner also found, reveals the rat terrier rescuers named Moxy is their 13-year-old pooch Tinkerbelle.
CENTERTON, AR (KNWA) - The mayor of Centerton says the owner of Moxy, the dog found burned by fireworks earlier this week, has been found.

Her real name is Tinkerbelle, mayor Bill Edwards wrote in a Facebook post, and she is a 13-year-old rat terrier.

He also offered an update on Tinkerbelle's health, saying she's expected to make a full recovery from her injuries. "This morning I was advised she is walking and eating and doing much better."

Edwards went on to thank everyone for their support, "On behalf of DJ Ritchie who is our caretaker at the shelter, thank you for all the donations. It appears over $3,500 was raised for her care and I also want to thank you for your donations to her. We feel at this time we have enough donations to cover her current vet bill."

The Centerton Police and Centerton Animal control are working together to determine what happened and the police will release a statement when their investigation is complete.

The dog was found in a neighborhood earlier this week and witnesses say she had been badly burned by fireworks that were strapped to her body.
