University of Arkansas Updates Nondiscrimination Policy

The order prohibits federal contractors from discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.
FAYETTEVILLE, AR (KNWA)- The University of Arkansas is updating its non discrimination policy.

The update comes on the heels of an executive order signed by President Obama in July.

The order prohibits federal contractors from discriminating on the basis of sexual orientation or gender identity.

Now, if a U of A campus has a federal contract valued at more than $10,000, it's advised to change its 'equal opportunity' and 'non discrimination' policies to include 'gender identity' and 'sexual orientation.'
