Two Tickets Win Biggest Powerball Jackpot Ever, $579.9-Million

Winners in Arizona, Missouri will split the prize.
The biggest Powerball jackpot in the game's history has been won by two ticketholders.

The winning tickets for the $579.9-million prize were sold in Arizona and Missouri. They will split the cash amount after taxes of $384.7-million.

The numbers drawn Wednesday night were: 5 - 16 - 22 - 23 - 29 and Powerball of 6. The Power Play was x4.

The jackpot was the second-largest top prize in U.S. lottery history.

In seven states (Colorado, Connecticut, Florida, Maryland, New Mexico, Ohio, and South Carolina), players that had the Match 5 plus the Power Play won $2-million each.

There were also million-dollar winners in 25 states who hit the Match 5 without the Power Play.

The most money won in Arkansas were tickets that matched the Match 4 plus the Powerball. One of the prizes was $10,000 and the other was $40,000 since the buyer also had the Power Play.

The prize for the next Powerball drawing will the reset jackpot of $40-million for Saturday night.
