MAYFLOWER, AR -Two months ago Kathy Perry watched as construction crews poured the foundation for her new home.
Now Kathy is opening a new door in her life just three months after the tornado that tore apart Mayflower.
"What do I miss about it? Well Lord a lot of memories. My husband was living at the time there and I think he would really appreciate this," says Perry.
Things he might appreciate would be Kathy's new sun room.
"You can sit in these chairs and look all out there," says Perry.
Or also her brand new kitchen which has her new favorite light fixtures. She says they sparkle like diamonds when the light shines through.
Through out the trials that she has faced; she has weathered the storm by keeping many things the same.
"I saved all of my furniture. The only thing I had to do was buy a TV and stuff like that," says Perry.
However Kathy still has a lot of unpacking left to do. In the midst of the moving back in she offered advice to all homeowners.
"Insurance, I tell everybody get home owners policy," says Perry.
Though she may have a new home with a lot of new appliances, the construction crews didn't replace the old storm shelter that saved her life.
