Sheriff: Baxter Co. Man Admits Sexual Contact with 2 Girls Related to Him

BAXTER COUNTY, AR - A man who lives in the rural Gassville area has been arrested on charges of rape and sexual assault.

The Baxter County Sheriff's Office (BCSO) has charged Brian A. Maxwell, 38, after an investigation into a report filed on June 30.

The BCSO says Maxwell is accused of engaging in sexual contact with two girls aged 9 and 4, who are related to him.

During Maxwell's arrest, deputies also searched his home on Baxter CR 511 and seized a computer and some thumb drives. 
Deputies say during an interview with investigators that Maxwell admitted to the accusations made against him.  

He was then booked into the Detention Center on the following felony charges:
  • Rape – Under 14 years of age (2 counts) 
  • Sexual Assault in the Second Degree (1 count) 
Maxwell is being held on $250,000 bond pending an appearance before a judicial officer that is set for July 17.
