Rand Paul Rendezvous in Arkansas

HOT SPRINGS, AR -- On Friday, Arkansas Republicans welcomed one of the party's biggest stars to the Natural State.

The State GOP hosted Kentucky Senator Rand Paul as part of a special fundraising event in Hot Springs called "United We Stand As We Welcome Rand."

Paul's event will lead up to the Republicans' Winter State Committee meeting on Saturday.

Paul was critical of the President's State of the Union declaration that he'll take executive action without Congress to advance measures he thinks are good for the country.

"(Barack Obama) says he won't negotiate with a gun to his head," Rand said. "Well, he won't negotiate without a gun to his head. He won't negotiate unless he's forced to negotiate because he believes in extravagant government. He believes in no limited debt. He believes in raising taxes, so we won't get anything that's good for the country unless we stand up for what we believe in."

Paul was originally set to visit Arkansas in December, but bad weather forced the Arkansas Republican Party to reschedule.
