Pryor Pays Tribute to Arkansas Tornado Victims

Recites names of those lost in U.S. Senate floor speech.
WASHINGTON D.C. (News release) - U.S. Senator Mark Pryor took to the Senate floor to pay tribute to those devastated by this week’s deadly tornadoes in Arkansas, which caused at least 15 fatalities and destroyed over 260 homes.

This week, Pryor has helped Arkansas families and businesses shift through the rubble and worked with local and federal officials to secure disaster relief funding to help the state recover.

“They called it Arkanstrong, because people in our state, they are resilient. They are strong people. They are scrappers. For you to sit there and your house is in ruins and there’s nothing left and for you to look at me and say, ‘Well it’s just stuff.’ That takes a strong person to say that. You see the bravery, the selflessness, the generosity. You know why these amazing people I help, you know why I’m so very, very proud to be their Senator.”
