Police: Kidnapped Texas Woman Rescued in Bentonville

Officers say she gave a Walmart employee a note and they called police. Two men accused of taking her from her Dallas home are behind bars.
BENTONVILLE, AR (KNWA) - A Walmart employee calls police after a Texas woman hands her a note inside a local store saying she'd been kidnapped. Now two men are behind bars facing numerous charges.

According to a report from the Bentonville Police Department, Yulu Zhang of Dallas told officers she was walking into her apartment last weekend when her ex-boyfriend, Michael Lee Roberts, attacked her from behind.

The woman told investigators he threatened to kill her unless she cooperated with him and his friend, Theron Alan Vance.

Police say Zhang had filed charges against Roberts in Texas in a previous incident and he may have been trying to keep her away from those court proceedings out of fear he'd be kicked out of the National Guard.

Roberts, 24, of Bentonville and Vance, 21, of Rogers, are both being held in the Benton County jail.
