Pediatricians Want School to Change Head Lice Policies

Doctors say parasites are not a health threat.
The nation's pediatricians are urging schools to stop nitpicking over a few head lice.

The American Academy of Pediatrics says schools shouldn't be forcing kids to miss class just because they're infested.

That's because lice are considered a nuisance, but they aren't a health threat like the flu.

A statement from the group (click here) says that by the time schools notice the kids scratching away, they've likely had the bugs for three weeks already.
