LITTLE ROCK, AR - Over 200 athletes taking part in the Special Olympics Track and Field Games. This year's event was held at the Hornet Stadium in Bryant and included games like shot put, softball throw, tennis ball throw, relay race and running.

The mission of Special Olympics Arkansas is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic type sports for all children and adults with intellectual disabilities. It's a mission volunteer Jada Brookins says she can get behind.

"I feel like these kids need um, they don't get as much attention from there peers at school and I feel like they need more love being shown," says Brookins.

Special Olympics Arkansas serves athletes from all 75 counties in the state. The counties are divided into areas where athletes train and compete.
