One More Primary Election Vote Counted in Jefferson Co

A Jefferson County Election commissioner says one more vote has been counted in last week's primary because the ballot had been incorrectly placed.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, AR -- A Jefferson County Election commissioner says one more vote has been counted in last week's primary because the ballot had been incorrectly placed among the ballots that aren't being counted.

The election commission met Wednesday night and concluded 175 absentee ballots will not be counted.

Out of those, 83 were rejected due to lack of proof of identification.

40 ballots have been rejected because they were mishandled by the County Clerk, according to County Election Commissioner Stu Soffer.

Soffer says the rest of the rejected ballots contained discrepancies.
