No Power Until Friday for Some in Arkansas

Wednesday storms damaged power lines in many locations.
LITTLE ROCK, AR - It will be Friday before electricity is restored in some parts of the state after Wednesday's storms.

As of 11 this morning, at least 16-thousand customers of Entergy and SWEPCO were still in the dark.

A strong line of thunderstorms with winds of 50 to 60 mph swept through parts of the state, downing trees and snapping power lines.

At one point, power was out for nearly 68,000 SWEPCO customers in Arkansas, Texas and Louisiana.

On its Facebook page this morning, SWEPCO posted the following outage numbers along with the estimated time of restoring service.

SWEPCO says its crews are working to restore power as quickly and safely as possible. They're being assisted by an additional 225 line, service and tree personnel from Mississippi, Missouri and Oklahoma.

Customers are reminded to stay away from all downed lines and keep others away because downed lines can still be working.
