Meeting Held to Discuss Little Rock Private Club Hours

A report on late night private clubs in Little Rock proposes cutting their hours, while also requiring additional security.
LITTLE ROCK, AR - A report from two city directors has just been released.

It proposes cutting hours of the night private clubs currently operating in Little Rock, while also requiring additional security.

Private clubs hold special permits allowing them to serve alcohol until 5:00 a.m.

Some argue they are a threat to public safety, citing an increase in calls for police help as the night gets later.

But supporters showed up in force on Tuesday to argue against forcing private clubs to close their doors earlier.

"I am a single mother of two teenage daughter I have raised both my kids working in the bar business this is all I know. If I don't have this I don't have anything, my kids don't have anything," says bartender Jamie Allison.

City directors took late night tours of the private clubs and we expect to here their observations during the discussion this evening.
