Maumelle's Mayflower Mission for Tornado Recovery

On May 9, students will be collecting needed items and on May 10 they'll be in Mayflower volunteering with the cleanup.
MAUMELLE, AR - Maumelle High School is getting ready to load up its band truck as a "Stuff the Truck" event to collect items needed* for tornado relief in Mayflower.  

The collection project is on Friday, May 9, from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Commons Dr., between Kroger and Walgreens.   

Students will be out helping to unload cars and encourage the community to help with the project.

A group of teachers and administration staff will take over from 4 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Also, on Saturday May 10, Maumelle High School is taking 2 school buses of students to Mayflower to help with the cleanup. (The group has been approved by the Mayflower Chamber of Commerce to volunteer for the recovery effort).

The bus leaves at 8:30 a.m. and parent chaperones are welcome. One chaperone is needed for every 8 students. Parents and students will need to wear pants, thick sole shoes, and bring sunscreen/bug spray as well as their own bottled water.
