LITTLE ROCK, AR (News release) - U.S. Senate candidate Tom Cotton announced the support Monday of Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal who is appearing at a fundraiser for Cotton in Fort Smith Monday evening.
Jindal, the former Congressman and two-term Governor of Louisiana, praised Cotton in his endorsement, saying: "Washington desperately needs leaders like Tom Cotton. After almost six years of failures under the Obama administration, it is imperative that we turn our country around with leaders like Tom Cotton. Tom bravely served his country in Iraq and Afghanistan, and now he's ready to serve his country again - this time to fight Obamacare, stop Washington's wasteful spending, and get our economy moving again."
Cotton thanked Jindal for his support, saying: "I'm proud to have Governor Jindal's support in this race for U.S. Senate. Governor Jindal understands that Washington isn't working for the average American, and we need people in Washington who aren't afraid to rock the boat or shake up the status quo. Electing leaders who will make hard decisions is the only way to make things right."
Jindal also offered a strong critique of Cotton's opponent, U.S. Senator Mark Pryor: "Senator Pryor hasn't been putting Arkansas first; he's been putting President Obama first. Since going to Washington, Senator Pryor has voted over 90% of the time with President Obama's agenda, which is bad for Arkansas. Not only has Senator Pryor cast one of the deciding votes for Obamacare, he has also helped add nearly $1 trillion per year to the national debt since he's been in Washington. It's time voters give someone else a chance to turn our country around."
Governor Jindal will appear at a fundraiser in Fort Smith for Tom Cotton on Monday evening. Jindal joins several other leaders over the past few weeks to endorse Cotton, including Governor Mitt Romney, Ambassador John Bolton, and several others.
