LITTLE ROCK, AR (News release) - A routine bridge inspection will require lane closures on Highway 64 (Garrison Ave.) in Fort Smith, according to Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department (AHTD) officials.
Crews will be inspecting the Highway 64 (Garrison Ave.) bridge over the Arkansas River between Fort Smith and Oklahoma. The work will require closing the eastbound and westbound outside lanes on the bridge.
The westbound lane closure will be Monday, May 19 through Tuesday, May 20. The eastbound lane closure will be Tuesday, May 20 through Thursday, May 22. Both closures will only occur between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. This inspection was scheduled earlier, but had to be delayed due to weather.
Motorists should exercise caution when approaching and traveling through all highway work zones.
