Highland Pellets Building $130M Facility in Pine Bluff

The new facility will have a financial impact of $86 million annually on the community.
PINE BLUFF, AR - Thirty-five jobs are moving into a city in Jefferson County.

Highland Pellets announced today they will build a 500,000 metric ton per year wood pellet facility in Pine Bluff.

The $130 million plant will have a financial impact of $86 million annually on the community.

"When you get an announcement that couples new manufacturing jobs with great environmental policies, and a boom for a resource we are abundant in and that has suffered more than perhaps other areas of the economy throughout the recession it's kind of a super announcement on steroids," said Governor Mike Beebe.

Highland Pellets is a privately held company with industry veterans from the wood pellet, finance, and energy markets.
