High School Students Attend Junior Fire Cadet Program

High school students are competing to see who can attend a national competition next week in Hot Springs.
LITTLE ROCK, AR - Climbing tall ladders, running, and carrying heavy equipment may sound like military training but these exercises are a test of skill in the Junior Fire Cadet Program in Little Rock.

High school students are competing to see who can attend a national competition next week in Hot Springs. The cadet program maybe challenging but the students say it's worth it.

"It's tedious but its not so hard at all. It gets you ready for the outside world and becoming a better individual," says T'auna Brooks.

The Little Rock Fire Department and Metropolitan Vo-Tech joined together for this event.
