Happy Birthday Arkansas!

On June 15, 1836, Arkansas became the 25th state.
LITTLE ROCK, AR -- The state of Arkansas is blowing out the candles for the 178th time

Today, in the year 1836, Arkansas became a state.

In honor of that historic day, folks took a trip to the Old Statehouse Museum in downtown Little Rock.

It's the oldest surviving state capitol building, west of the Mississippi River.

Some of the new exhibits are called "Different Spokes" which is a look at the history of bicycling in Arkansas.

And, there's "Lights! Camera! Arkansas" which features the state's ties to Hollywood.

Entrance to the museum is free.

It's open 7 days a week.
