LITTLE ROCK, AR - Some women battling cancer at UAMS had their day brightened by makeovers today.
They were free fix-ups, courtesy of the American Cancer Society's "Look Good, Feel Better" program.
The program works to give women living with cancer a fun experience while also helping them overcome appearance-related side effects from treatment.
Patients say while they were surprised the makeovers were offered, they're grateful for them.
"Oh, I thank you and appreciate it. I've never had anything done like this to me before," says Marcia Sweatt, makeover recipient.
UAMS is the first hospital in the Cancer Society's six-state Mid-South region to offer the program to patients.
