Education Matters: Teaching Kids About Healthy Eating

Children at PCSSD learn a play about healthy foods and exercising.
PULASKI COUNTY, AR -- Students at one Pulaski County elementary school are taking a unique approach to learning about healthy foods.

Our First Lady is making healthy eating a priority for children.

As part of her Fit for Life campaign, Michelle Obama created plays for students to follow.

The one they're doing at Robinson Elementary School teaches kids about fruits, veggies and other good-for-you foods.

Principal Kim Truslow said, "We also want them to learn something about what they're studying about...health and wellness and all aspects of it. So, in 5th grade its really important they learn about healthy foods."

Professional actors and dancers help kids create the play.

And they love it...mostly anyway.

A.J. Mcnew said, "Yes except for the part where I had a little bit of stage fright."
